AROHA (NZ)

AROHA is a dynamic producer and DJ originally from New Zealand, now based in Melbourne, celebrated for her electrifying performances and genre-blurring sets. Fusing house and techno with breakbeat, electro, footwork, and UK bass, she brings an unmistakable energy to every stage—whether playing solo or as one half of AROHA & TALI alongside award-winning MC TALI.

From her early days as a prime-time host on George FM to headlining world-class festivals, AROHA has carved a unique path through electronic music. Voted New Zealand’s Best Club DJ in 2013, she has supported and shared stages with global icons including Disclosure, Kaytranada, Ben UFO, Chase & Status, Grace Jones, and Jazzy Jeff. Her festival appearances span Pitch Music & Arts, Let Them Eat Cake, WOMADelaide, Rhythm & Vines, Northern Bass, and many more.

Her 2020 debut EP No More Jenga introduced her bold production style to the world, earning global acclaim and Spotify editorial support. Since then, she has released standout remixes for POOLCLVB, Antix, and Kédu Carlö, and original tracks such as Pūrerehua and Escape to Eora Country—the latter spotlighted by CC:DISCO! on her “Track IDs” playlist.

2023 marked a breakout year with her Boiler Room debut, a 16-date tour with The Jungle Giants across Australia and New Zealand, a 19-date performance run at the international design spectacle WOW (World of Wearable Art), and standout shows at London’s Colour Factory with Lady Shaka and XOYO for Heidi’s Hi-Jacked residency.

In 2024, AROHA & TALI released their debut single together These Walls, a commanding electronic pop anthem backed by tastemakers such as Oliver Dollar and SHOUSE. AROHA followed this with Let Her Rip (Toitū Te Tiriti), a powerful statement track sampling Māori politician Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke’s impassioned challenge against New Zealand’s divisive Treaty Principles Bill. The track went viral, gaining support from Boiler Room, Radio New Zealand, George FM, and charting across the country’s student radio network.

Throughout 2024, AROHA toured Australia and New Zealand with TALI and performed at major festivals including Pitch Music & Arts, Gaytimes, Axean (Bali), AUM, and Rhythm & Alps. Early in 2025, she hit another milestone, opening for her heroes 2ManyDJs and Groove Armada at New Zealand’s Gardens Festival.

In March 2025, she released Mother Tongue, a concept EP inspired by trailblazing women in music—Grace Jones, Debbie Harry, and Delia Derbyshire—channelling their boldness, originality, and sonic innovation into a deeply personal body of work.

With more music set for release in 2025, AROHA continues to evolve her sound, push boundaries, and ignite dance floors around the globe.
