YB.

Soaring out of Meanjin/Brisbane and straight into our hearts is rising indie icon Yb. His latest drop was Coffee Shop, the extra smooth summer release that overflows with syrupy, golden-goodness. Collaborating with Winston Surfshirt and Fossa Beats on production, Yb's vocals float through warm balanced layers and orchestral undertones, with smiling hints of brass and sax. ‘Coffee Shop’ is currently nominated for 'Best Soul/Funk/R&B Category' at the Queensland Music Awards (QMA's) and elsewhere Yb. was selected as a winner of The Jungle Giants' Ads for Artists national Smirnoff Campaign.

Signing off from a momentous year, 2021 saw Yb. spotlighted as a triple j Unearthed feature artist and applauded with glowing reviews and triple j airplay for his single DANCE WITH ME TODAY. Expanding collaborative circles, Yb. headed to Sydney to work with Winston Surfshirt, Touch Sensitive and Stevan, and the talented local has also attracted worldwide attention from the likes of Tom Misch, Dangermouse and Snakehips. Yb. has experienced a myriad of global Spotify editorial playlist moments, including landing on the cover of one of Spotify's biggest playlists, Front Left and becoming the poster artist for their latest advertising campaign.

Previous singles Don't Crash and Waiting have got the whole industry talking, whilst Stay (with nearly 2 million streams) remains a breakout classic.

In the live arena, Yb. and his band 'The Gone Candidates’ were hand-picked by triple j unearthed to perform live at THIS THAT festival over the weekend, and he’s previously shared the stage with Jarryd James and blissed out at Mountain Goat Valley Crawl. Coming next is a QLD tour supporting San Cisco across March/April, with plenty more to come... watch this space!
